POLICE SECURITY TRAINING - PSOS

Most of PSOS's activity with the police falls within the scope of local, urban and regional police forces, whose budgets are typically funded by the city or regional governments.

These types of police forces are responsible for ensuring the security of the residents of a given municipality or province under its jurisdiction. They act in prevention, deterrence and enforcement of the law.

Oftentimes, local police are the first to arrive on the scene. They must respond and make decisions to deal with a situation properly and efficiently until national law enforcement bodies arrive. Since the transfer of power is not a simple process, it is necessary to provide all parties with the professional, social and psychological tools needed to allow for an effective and professional transfer of power.

PSOS's security traninig concept is based on the principles of the human factor, and prevention. We are guided by the premise that in an event the commander should be present at the scene rather than calling orders from the office. This leader's orders will be the result of prior intelligence gathering, analysis of the development of the situation, decision-making as applied to the field, and an observation of consequences as the situation unfolds.

Police academies provide basic security training to all police officers. PSOS aims to complement and enrich that basic security training with additional topics and materials. Special focus is given to leadership, power and control, behavior under pressure, conflict resolution, and body language.
